| EQUINE RESEARCH GRANT APPLICATION
FUNDING PRIORITY STATEMENT
American Quarter Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Foundation encourage the
submission of a diverse range of research projects related to the health, welfare, and utility
of the horse and of importance to the horse owner and horse industry. Funding decisions will be
based on scientific merit, clinical application, and/or potential benefit to the horse and horse industry.
All applications must be submitted electronically prior to December 1.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Paste the resulting document into Microsoft Word.
- Insert proposal into the formatted document.
- All proposals must adhere to the format provided within the application. Proposals must be double spaced, with one-inch margins, and in minimum 12-point font. Proposals that do not conform to the written instructions will not be considered for funding.
- Projects of more than one year’s duration must be submitted annually and will be subject to annual review, and must include a progress report of not more than 5 pages in addition to the project proposal.
- After completing your application, upload the finalized application by using the BROWSE button to locate the completed document on your PC.
- Highlight the document and click OPEN.
- Click on the UPLOAD button at the bottom of this page. Please be patient. The upload may take a considerable amount of time depending on the size of your document.
- Because of required signatures, a signed copy of the TITLE PAGE must be mailed to: American Quarter Horse Foundation,
Attn: Laura Owens, 2601 East I-40, 79104.
- Within seven days, you will receive an email from AQHA confirming that your application has been received. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact our office at (806) 378-5034.
- Approval notification will be mailed May 1.
GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT
Projects approved for funding will receive a contractual agreement to be reviewed and signed by both organizations. A sample agreement is available for download. Project funding will be distributed to the approved grant organization on AQHA’s fiscal year basis, October 1 – September 30, in quarterly installments.
